The purpose of the District 13 Corrections Committee is to support and coordinate (if needed) the work of A.A. groups, Districts and members who are interested in carrying the A.A. message of recovery to alcoholics in prisons, detention centers, jails and other correctional facilities in and around District 13; to set-up, coordinate and support a network of A.A. members to smooth the way from these correctional facilities to the larger A.A. community through pre-release contacts; and to raise the awareness of the need for correctional facilities’ twelfth-step work among the fellowship in District 13.
